This crucial senior leadership role will require an individual who reflects the organisation itself; a successful balance between commercial thinking alongside a passion and credible history in the international development space.

A multi-faceted role, it will need someone who can contribute across multiple areas, and has the track record to back it up;

The post holder will develop and implement the strategic agenda for the practice, oversee teams, projects and bid work, define and execute organisational change initiatives, manage existing relationships with donors, government agencies, regulators etc, build new commercial partnerships, build collaborative working relationships across multiple internal areas, and have P&L responsibility.

To be considered, all candidates must align with the following:

  • Degree and post-graduate qualification in relevant discipline (economics, development economics or other appropriate social science discipline)
  • International Experience within the Economic Development, Private Sector Development, Natural Resource Governance or Climate Change/Environment sector and used to managing people remotely
  • Leadership experience, preferably within the sectors above
  • A strong commercial and business development orientated approach coupled with excellent networking skills
  • Possesses a strong values driven approach
  • Experience of project management, including the management of large project teams.
  • Experience of negotiation with senior government officials and staff of international aid agencies
  • Ability to work in at least one relevant foreign language would be an advantage

STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT: Not-for-Profit – Education Sector, South East – £50,000 – £55,000 base

We are excited to be working with this highly regarded not-for-profit organisation which has a particular focus on developing and delivering solutions for the education sector both in the UK and abroad. This person will be required to lead on the design and concept of education solutions, collaborate with Regional Directors to identify new business opportunities, manage bid submissions and bid teams, oversee client and competitor reviews and develop effective relationships with key senior stakeholders.
