This leading economic & international development consultancy have been delivering change solutions to the developing world for nearly 35 years – from Malawi to Kosovo to the Philippines.  Their relatively new London office is seeking a Senior Manager for the recently created Economic Governance Practice within the Business Development Department.

The position will be based in London with frequent travel abroad and to other permanent offices. This is a chance to very visibly and actively contribute to the development and growth of the Economic Governance practice with a focus on DFID and FCO.

The right candidate will bring deep experience and a proven track record in designing and winning proposals for DFID funded programmes, team leadership and technical delivery. They will be able to build successful relationships with donors and other stakeholders and represent the practice and the firm in the right way.

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • A postgraduate degree in economics, international development, political science or other relevant field
  • Management experience in one or more of the key technical areas; governance, security & justice, PSD, PFM, education, market system development, gender
  • Structured, methodological approach to drafting and development of proposals
  • Proven experience in DFID-funded projects in development and design of projects
  • Proven experience in drafting successful PQQs and proposals for DFID and FCO
  • Excellent relationship building and management skills; knowledge of key contacts

  • Strong budgeting skills
  • Demonstrable experience in leadership and direction
