  • ACA or CTA qualified (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience with tax compliance and reporting processes, across indirect and/or direct taxes and a deep understanding of the UK tax regime
  • Knowledge of or experience implementing tax technology solutions in one or more of the following areas: tax compliance tools, tax determination engines, reporting solutions and supporting technologies such as workflow management
  • Experience implementing or advising on tax sensitisation in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and/or strong knowledge of how tax may integrate to those solutions

INDIRECT TAX CONTRACTOR, South London – £Excellent daily rate

Well-known ‘name’, looking for interim Indirect Tax resource for c. 6 months. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Full responsibility for Indirect Tax compliance in relation to the UK and ROI businesses, including VAT returns, European Sales Lists and Intrastat submissions, ensuring that UK & Ireland VAT reporting / payment requirements are met on a timely basis
  • Identify process and system improvements, and driving process change within the business to enhance the quality of VAT / Intrastat / EC Sales reporting
  • Support with the annual Corporation Tax return for the UK business units, working with external Tax advisors to review and submit returns. Assistance with month-end tax journals, including corporation and deferred tax
  • Co-ordinate quarterly meeting of the Tax Committee and manage the SAO certification process in respect of all taxes including the maintenance of tax risk registers
  • Working collaboratively with Tax Authorities in relation to Indirect tax matters and dealing with enquiries and audits as they arise with support from the wider Tax team and external advisers
  • Actively participate and lead in cross functional projects from a VAT / tax perspective from scoping, through to implementation, being the point of contact for queries across the business
  • Facilitate the international trade compliance process including customs declaration forms and intrastat submissions

You’ll need the ability to build strong relationships, influence and communicate cross functionally at all levels, and be able to demonstrate credibility, integrity, initiative, determination. You’ll need to be results-orientated and be comfortable challenging the status quo and looking for creative solutions to situations.
