One of Caroline's new year's resolutions was to involve herself more in supporting those at the beginning of their working life and we're pleased to report that she hasn't failed on this one, but has made good progress on two fronts:
As part of BLT's CSR programme, we've all joined a scheme to assist Year 11 pupils in local schools to prepare for interviews and Caroline and others completed their first session at Bethnal Green Technology College in early January.
Caroline has also joined the Association of Women Chartered Secretaries (AWCS) Mentoring Scheme as a Mentor that offers AWCS members flexible one-to-one guidance on the personal and professional aspects of developing a successful company secretarial career. The mentors are currently undertaking a training programme run by Robert Franklin and Nichola Lenehan of Metis Coaching, and this has comprised several sessions on different aspects of successful mentorship, held at our offices through January and into February.
If you are an ICSA student and/or AWCS member and would like to know more about this service, please contact Helena Whitaker, the scheme coordinator, at helena.whitaker@sfmlimited.com or Victoria Penrice, AWCS President at victoria.penrice@virgin.net. (The AWCS is the Association of Women Chartered Secretaries) and if you would like further information on the organization, please contact the Membership Secretary, Maggie Heasman at Maggie.Heasman@cimaglobal.com.
