BLT Press Release: Jobseekers turn to social media in tough job market

With several thousand of the UK's 13 million jobseekers relying solely on the internet to find a job*, one innovative recruitment company has embraced this new era and will be declared UK's best management consultancy firm this month, partly due to its trailblazing adoption of social networking tools such as Facebook and Twitter.

Beament Leslie Thomas (BLT) was voted best UK management consultancy recruitment firm by more than 750 management consultants in Top-Consultant.com's influential annual survey conducted in February this year.

BLT is one of the few management consultancy recruitment firms in the UK regularly using social media tools such as blogging, Facebook, Twitter and even a dedicated You Tube channel to keep in touch with their database of candidates.

"Social networking tools are no longer the domain of Generation Y and the IT industry, they provide an extremely effective way of engaging with our growing database of candidates on an individual basis," says Don Leslie, director of BLT management consultancy recruitment division.

Don Leslie, who started out with Deloitte's business advisory team and has specialised in this area since 1983, was also voted UK's top management consultant recruiter in the survey.
