LK Bennett Event Wednesday 14th November truly was ladies' night as BLT hosted their first ever private shopping event in conjunction with LK Bennett.
The stunning Covent Garden store was the venue for our champagne and canapé fuelled extravaganza during which contacts were gained and money was, most definitely, lost! However, the beautiful selection of LK Bennett goods and the numerous staff to help attendees make the perfect choices meant nobody went home without a beautiful addition (or two) to their winter wardrobe! And for those whose will-power resisted the ever-flowing champagne, our goodie-bag meant even they took home a little piece of LK Bennett in the shape of an attractive leather clutch evening bag - not to mention the other freebies which included amongst other things a BLT key-ring, 10% discount for life at LK Bennett and a Green & Blacks chocolate bar!
For those who left business cards at the beginning of the night we have now drawn the winners of the LK Bennett vouchers prize draw.
· 1st Prize: Gillian Robinson @ The Association of British Insurers - £100
· 2nd Prize: Lynne McCarthy @ Capgemini - £75
· 3rd Prize: Lisa Marlow @ Deloitte - £50
Congratulations to you all! Make sure you make full use of your discount card when making your purchases!
BLT would like to thank all that came along and participated in our evening. It was a great success and one which we will most certainly be repeating!

Retail Therapy I certainly enjoy my job and I enjoy all networking opportunities but rarely am I invited to an event that correlates so closely with one of my favourite personal pursuits. So what could be better than the chance for some leisurely shopping with a glass of champagne in one hand and a very canapé in the other? Not only is an upmarket fashion store a great place to find those special clothes and accessories that perfectly combine stylish and practical, but the evening included tailored advice from a fashion industry expert who delivered those vital top tips on everything from the season's 'must haves' to the essential shape and colour 'do's and don'ts'.
So, with the added incentive of a 10% discount, did I do as I was told and throw away my 'obviously cheap and very last year' gypsy hipster belt in favour of the very now cinch-waist black patent version...? You will have to wait and see - but I am very grateful to the Association of Women Chartered Secretaries/AWCS for their generous hospitality and a very pleasant evening.

Open University Business School Visit OU MBAs from across the South East gathered in Milton Keynes to hear BLT 's take on the consultancy market. Delegates found it "interesting, comprehensive and generally very useful". One commented "Thank you very much for an inspirational presentation on Tuesday. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your insights and honesty in a clouded subject area. It's really quite difficult to obtain a truthful response from existing consultants for a number of reasons. The need to appear successful as a management consultant implies that they can handle the stress, pressure, deadlines, time away from family and yet continue to thrive in a macho environment where there isn't much room for sensitivities or perceived weaknesses. Having said all that, you fired up my engines and I'm raring to go! I came out of your presentation buzzing and just wanted to get on with it." If you are an alumnus of OU and you'd like to know more about the consultancy sector, contact the MC team at mc@blt.co.uk

The CSS team made a very pleasurable trip 'up west' to the Association of Women Chartered Secretaries Summer Party. Held at the new Albermarle Gallery, we enjoyed champagne, canapés and most-importantly good conversation, surrounded by some very expensive modern artwork! As firm believers in the 'value' of the AWCS we were delighted to be part of such a great turnout and our only disappointment was not to win one of the very impressive raffle prizes - but perhaps next time! Anyway, a big 'thank you' to all involved; and see you next year!

"BLT Kicks Butt". We received this note from an MBA who had asked us for help.
"Hi Don,
I just would like to thank you for our conversation regarding my profile in January, where I learned that I had to sharpen my "message" and profile to achieve my ambitions. It really made me reflect on how I see application from the eye of the strategy house recruiter.
Why I write this is that I just signed with A.T. Kearney Nordic, and I see that without this "kick in the butt" I may not have gotten where I am today.
Thank you, Don, and I look forward to meet you again at a future crossroad."
If you'd like your butt kicked, or maybe just some advice on your career, contact a BLT adviser on 020 7405 3404.
