Fluent in Portuguese and a strong consulting background?

This small but rapidly growing, international strategy consultancy is seeking an experienced, Portuguese-speaking strategy consultant. The individual will join the firm initially as a Project Manager (based in London) but will possess the clear potential to evolve rapidly into a full Country Manager and run a newly opening office in Brazil in late 2012.

The firm in question is a market-based strategy consulting firm, with 4 offices worldwide at present, London being the largest. The consultancy offers strategic advisory services across most market sectors to large corporates and PE houses: market scoping and competitor intelligence, horizon scanning and deep-dive research, due diligence and M&A support, all leading to practical implementable strategy around market entry, growth and performance improvement.

Your role, initially in London, would be to work on client assignments as Project Manager, in order to quickly gain an understanding of the firm's approach to consulting. You'll then transfer to Brazil to run the country operation and report to the CEO in London. To excel in this role, you'll need a hybrid set of skills. You'll have strong analytical and numerical skills and you'll be able to extract value from large volumes of information. You'll be a keen strategic thinker, an excellent team leader who enjoys working in a multi-cultural environment, as well as a great networker and an individual who enjoys a client-facing role.

This is an extremely exciting opportunity for somebody who would like to have an instrumental and hands-on role in shaping the direction of a consultancy. You'll be working for a multinational business that's developing globally, yet travel is expected to be around only 20%! The MCA has recently published a report stating that the UK's management consulting sector will increasingly be looking to build business in new and emerging markets around the world. you could be ahead of the curve with this consultancy!

A minimum of 10 years' post graduate work experience

At least 5 years of market-orientated consultancy at manager level

At least a 2.1 or higher from a top university. MBA preferred

To have significant experience of managing client relationships and identifying/closing sales opportunities
